President’s Message

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Nashville.  Our club is one of the oldest and largest clubs in the Rotary world (we are currently the 20th largest club with just over 480 members.)

Rotary is an organization of business and professional persons united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world.  Because of Rotary International's leadership, Polio has virtually been eradicated around the globe.

Our Club's commitment to Rotary International's motto of "Service Above Self" is demonstrated by our many diverse humanitarian efforts and service projects.  Since 2001, those efforts have been directed into the Watkins Park community in north Nashville.  Lasting partnerships have been formed and hundreds of lives have been touched.  

The Rotary Club of Nashville, through our Nashville Rotary Service Trust, will contribute $137,000 in support of various community service initiatives during this Rotary year.  We will also send Rotarians into childcare programs to read and spend time with the children, into a local after hours program to tutor and mentor school-age children, work with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, and into the local food bank to sort donated food products and pack food boxes for the needy. 

Internationally, our club has historically been very active in the Group Study Exchange program and Youth Exchange program of Rotary International and most years have presented a nominee for the prestigious Ambassadorial Scholar program.

While service is the very essence of our Club, we also offer great weekly meetings and other opportunities for social activities for our members.  We meet nearly every Monday at the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville, where we enjoy a fine buffet lunch, great guest speakers, and a chance to visit with our Rotary friends.  If you are a visiting Rotarian, come see us and enjoy our meeting.  If you are a prospective member, learn more about the membership recruitment process on this web site or by contacting our office or any of our members.
