60+ Rotarians and their guests grazed and gazed at the Cheekwood Mansion on Thursday, February 9th, 2012. A full bar, a Western themed menu played a lovely complement to the exhibition Visions of the American West, from Cody, Wyoming. Many thanks to Cheekwood and to Rotarians Harris Haston and Carlene Lebous for underwriting part of the evening. Reserved for Rotary fellowship events are held quarterly, allowing Club members to visit with each other in a more intimate setting. |

Rotary teamed up with MDHA for the Extreme Farm In The City community service project in the MDHA Farm In The City community garden next to the John Henry Hale homes. Through heavy rain and extreme heat, over 65 volunteers pitched in over two work days to build a sun shelter, compost boxes, and garden beds and to prepare the ground for an orchard to be planted in Fall 2011. Mayor Dean performed the ribbon cutting upon completion! |
